The project lies on the ridge of the rural landscape of Macerata, part of a settlement born as an agricultural colony in 1868, transformed in 1881 into the Royal School of Agriculture practice. The building is integrated in a geographical area characterized by hills and slopes. In section the volume is broken to follow the contours of the hill, in plan the project alternates internal and external spaces, creating an animated front on the road. The masterplan maximizes the relationships with the other facilities located on site, enhancing the potential of the campus. Civic center, boarding school, canteen, library, sports facilities, gardens and kitchen garden are part of the same complex, developing a multidisciplinary training path that cross the entire site of the former agricultural colony. The program is distributed in two stories: on the ground floor 7 laboratories and the spaces for special activities, on the first floor 20 classrooms. The library, the gym and the auditorium will have each one its independent access, allowing a maximum degree of autonomy between ordinary use of the school spaces and the appropriation of the space by the community or other institutions.
